There's no denting the fact that the 2001 release Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein is one of the most popular films of actor Madhavan's career. The romantic drama became a rage due to its relatable storyline and catchy songs. According to a report carried by Pinkvilla, the film is set to get a a sequel nearly 20 years after its release with a fresh lead pair. While nothing has been finalised, Vicky Kaushal and Kriti Sanon are the frontrunners for the project. If this happens, the movie will mark the first collaboration between the two.
The Gautham Menon-helmed Rehna Hai Tere Dil revolved around what happens when the protagonist falls in love with a young woman who is engaged to his college rival. Maddy's chemistry with the leading lady Dia Mirza was a highlight of the movie and added new dimension to the film. The cast included Saif Ali Khan, Vrajesh Hirjee and Anupam Kher. Rehna Hai Tere Dil found limited success upon release but soon attained cult status. It remains to be seen whether the sequel lives up to the standards set by the first part.

Vicky Kaushal, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. The Uri star will be beginning work on his magnum opus The Immortal Ashwatthama in a few months. He also has Sardar Udham Singh, a film based on the life of Indian revolutionary Udham Singh, in his kitty.
Kriti, on the other hand, recently joined the cast of the mythological drama Adipurush, which stars pan-India hero Prabhas as Lord Ram . It is an adaptation of the Ramayana and celebrates the 'victory of good over evil'. The Om Raut-directed biggie has an impressive cast that includes Saif Ali Khan, as the antagonist 'Lankesh', and Sunny Singh. The Hindi-Telugu bilingual is slated to release in theatres next year.
Kriti will also be seen in Mimi, co-starring Pankaj Tripathi, and the Akshay Kumar-starrer Bachchan Pandey
