The Disciple: The Disciple by Chaitanya Tamhane, Vivek Gomber and Alfonso Cuaron beautifully tells the story of how self-doubt, sacrifice and struggle  converges into an existential crisis for  a devoted classical vocalist. The Marathi film was screened at the 77th Venice International Film Festival where it won the  FIPRESCI International Critics Prize and the Best Screenplay award. It was also screened at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was named a winner of the Amplify Voices Award and is now available for viewing on Netflix.
