'Haven't been told whether my track is over': Shivaji Satam on ACP Pradyuman's exit from CID

Ask any 90s kid about CID and hear him mimicking ACP Pradyuman's dialogue - 'Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya'.

The character has been played by television actor Shivaji Satam for about 22 years in the police investigative Indian serial which airs on Sony television channel and is now streaming simultaneously on Netflix.

Various media reports have recently claimed that Shivaji will be leaving the television show after his character gets killed in a bomb blast.

The 72-year-old actor who has been playing the role of ACP Pradyuman since 1998, confirmed that he is not shooting for the series at the moment.

According to a media report which quoted the actor's interview with Bombay Times, Shivaji said that he has no idea about any developments but did open up about exiting CID for the time being.

He said, "I have no clue about this. I have taken a break for some time and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not!"

"As of now I am not shooting for the show. I am planning to go on a holiday in May, because my son who lives abroad is coming to India. I have enjoyed playing ACP for 22 years in the earlier season. It has been a great journey. The show has given me a lot. As of now I am just taking a break and am going to enjoy my life. I have worked hard and everyone deserves a break. Whether my track will be revived or not is something the makers know well," Shivaji added.

According to reports, television actor Parth Samthaan is likely to join the cast of the show.

The young actor had appeared in Gumrah: End of innocence, Best Friends Forever?, Kaisi Yeh Yaarian and Kasautii Zindagi Kay.
