Noted director SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie Rise Roar Revolt (RRR), which has created a great deal of buzz among fans with its massy teasers, is set to create a record even before its release. The makers have received an offer of nearly Rs 348 crore for the South Indian theatrical rights of the pan-India film. If things work out, RRR will beat Baahubali 2 as the Prabhas-starrer had done a pre-release business of Rs 215 crore in the same market.

The movie, touted to be a period-drama, revolves around the fictional adventures of two real freedom fighters. While Jr NTR plays the tribal leader Bheem, Ram Charan essays the role of Alluri Seetharamaraju. Contrary to perception, it is not a patriotic movie nor does it deal with the freedom struggle.

The magnum opus features Bollywood star Alia Bhatt as the leading lady and will mark her Tollywood debut. It has a stellar cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran and Irish actor Ray Stevenson. The Tanhaji hero will be seen playing the role of Tarak and Charan's mentor in the biggie and his role is likely to be a highlight of RRR.

While the specifics of the plot have been kept under wraps, the buzz is that the film is likely to revolve around the concept of reincarnation. If this indeed is the case, RRR will not be the first Rajamouli movie to deal with rebirth. He had previously explored the theme in Magadheera and the Nani-starrer Eega. The Baahubali saga too touched upon the idea as Mahendra Baahubali/Shivudu was projected as the 'second coming' of his valiant father Amrendra Baahubali.

RRR was supposed to hit the screens this Sankranti but that did not happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is slated to release on October 13. SS Rajamouli, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase of the work front. He is expected to begin the shoot of his film with Mahesh Babu after wrapping up RRR.
