The burial of the ashes of former Defence Minister George Fernandes will be held at the cemetery of St Francis Xavier Church in Bejai, Mangaluru, on February 2.
George Fernandes was cremated in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon. Part of the ashes was buried at the Christian cemetery on Prithviraj Road here on Friday morning.
The ashes were brought to Mangaluru by air by his younger brother Michael Fernandes and other close relatives on Friday night, according to family sources.
A prayer service will be held at St Francis Xavier Church at 3.30 pm on Saturday, followed by the burial of ashes at the Church cemetery.
