Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) seized gold, worth lakhs of rupees, from passengers in two separate cases at the airport on Saturday. Both the passengers had arrived from Dubai.
In the first case, the officials seized 358.78 grams gold concealed in the form of foils in check-in luggage of a passenger who arrived in SpiceJet flight. The value of the seized gold is Rs 11.93 lakh.
In another incident, the customs officials seized 116.580 grams of gold which was concealed in the rectum by a passenger. The value of the seized gold is Rs 3.88 lakh.
