<p>An empty four-storeyed building caved in at Mumbai's Borivali suburb on Friday, a video of which went viral online.</p>.<p>The Gitanjali building at Saibaba Nagar in Borivali West collapsed at 1234 hours, according to Mumbai police and BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).</p>.<p>Teams of Mumbai fire bridge, police and civic body are at the site. At least eight fire engines and fire brigade personnel were rushed to the spot.</p>.<p>“The building was declared dilapidated and vacated. We are checking whether anyone is trapped or not underneath the debris,” officials said. The operations will continue till the debris is cleared off.</p>.<p>The building is located in BMC’s R-Central ward. </p>.<p>The dramatic collapse of the building was caught on a smartphone and the video went viral. The visuals showed people standing across the road watching it come down even as they ran helter-skelter.</p>.<p>According to BMC, the ground-plus-four floor Gitanjali Building which collapsed, was declared a dangerous structure and had been vacated.</p>.<p>The incident occurred when the dahi-handi celebrations were in full swing in the vicinity, and the rescuers were checking to ascertain if any persons were injured or trapped there.</p>.<p>The Mumbai Fire Brigade sent 10 fire tenders, three ambulances to the spot, and other teams have also been rushed for relief and rescue operations.</p>.<p><em>(With inputs from IANS)</em></p>
