However later, it was suggested that it might have been Reddy's vehicle itself. </p><p>Reddy was in Rentapalla village, visiting the family of a TDP party member who had died by suicide. However, while the convoy was going to the village, a massive crowd started following them despite the police only allowing three cars and 100 people to accompany the former CM. </p>.<p>The ruling TDP-led government slammed the YSRCP for this incident, while the latter accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led party of resorting to "diversionary tactics, sensationalism, and smear campaigns instead of focusing on governance and public welfare".</p><p>YSRCP also said that the vehicle involved in the accident was a private vehicle, not part of Reddy’s convoy. </p><p>The party further accused the coalition government of deliberately compromising on his security, while its allies are "using these very lapses to orchestrate a character assassination campaign against him".</p>
