<p>Hyderabad: Six migrant workers from Odisha were killed in a tragic accident at a granite quarry in Andhra Pradesh's Bapatla district on Sunday. The incident occurred at Satyakrishna Granite Quarry near Ballikurava when a section of the quarry collapsed, causing boulders to fall on workers.</p><p>Sixteen workers were present at the site when the collapse occurred, trapping several under the debris. Rescue teams have so far retrieved six bodies, while search operations continued for the remaining victims.</p><p>Eight seriously injured workers have been transferred to Narasaraopet Hospital for advanced medical care, while doctors said that some remain in critical condition. Emergency response teams are continuing rescue operations at the accident site.</p><p>Officials are investigating whether adequate safety protocols were in place at the quarry. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed condolences over the tragic loss of lives and has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.</p><p>Bapatla district collector J Venkata Murali and SP, Tushir Dudi who had rushed to the accident spot, said that efforts are on to identify the deceased and preliminary assessment done with the help of other workers established that the deceased workers were from Odisha. </p>
