Even as the state Congress has upped the ante in the sex CD case, the complainant in the case, BJP leader Prakash Bajaj, on Tuesday sought police protection stating that he fears for his life.

He has also lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.

Bajaj, in his complaint to the Pandri Police, has stated that he feared for his and his family's life, and hence wants security. He added that in the wake of the matter gaining more and more ground in the newspapers, electronic and social media, and recent political developments revolving the scandal, he has developed "fear that he might be eliminated."

Cornering blame on the Congress for "an atmosphere of fear" in the state, he said that "there is a need to fear it."

The copy of the application has been sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police.

However, Bajaj refused to comment on the court's order to remove blackmailing charges against former journalist Vinod Verma, who is a close associate of CPCC president Bhupesh Baghel. He said that it was the jurisdiction of the court to decide on the matter.

Bajaj had lodged the complaint against Congress leaders, who had distributed a CD containing objectionable footage of Chhattishgarh Minister Rajesh Munat to the media. The clips of which had gone viral on social media.
