The Met department attributed the cold conditions to the icy winds blowing from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degree Celsius against Sunday's minimum of 9.5 degrees. Sunday's maximum temperature was 15.3 degrees, which is seven degrees below normal.

There was mist in the morning with visibility coming down to 1000 metre. However, there was no disruption in the flight operations at the IGI airport.

A thick blanket of fog on Saturday had thrown rail and air traffic out of gear and weather officials had attributed the intense fog to condensation.

The Met department's forecast said there may be mist or shallow fog in the morning tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 19 and seven degree Celsius respectively.
