Comedian Ali joins YSRCP, may contest from Vijayawada

A very sought after actor-comedian Ali of Tollywood finally made his mind to join the YSR Congress party.

Ali, who has kept all the three major parties including the ruling Telugu Desam Party waiting from quite some time, met Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday at his Lotus Pond residence here and formally joined the party.

Ali who belongs to Rajahmundry of the East Godavari district of the state says that he is ready to contest from either from his native place or Vijayawada.

“Actually the party president has asked me to campaign for the party with an assurance of a fitting place in the party. If I was to contest I am ready for that,” Ali told reporters after meeting Jagan.

Ali, clearing the air around his earlier meetings with TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his friend and actor Pawan Kalyan of Janasena said that the meetings were purely cordial.

"However, none of the two leaders assured me that they will stand behind me. Jagan did. So I joined his party,” Ali said.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP President has appointed actor Jr NTR’s father-in-law Narne Srinivasa Rao who recently joined the party as a member of the party Governing Body.
