Cyclone Yaas highlights: West Bengal, Odisha gear up for very severe storm
A week after cyclone Tauktae, cyclone Yaas brews in the eastern part of India, proving to be another challenge for the country grappling with a severe outbreak of the coronavirus. The cyclone will intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm and is likely to cross Odisha-West Bengal coasts on May 26, IMD said. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a virtual meeting with CMs of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and the LG of Andaman and Nicobar. NDRF has deployed 35 teams in West Bengal preemptively- Two in North Bengal and 33 in South Bengal. Stay tuned to DH for more updates.

West Bengal | People are being evacuated from the #CycloneYaas prone area by NDRF in East Medinipur district, Digha.
