Hours after an SUV with 20-odd gelatin sticks and a letter was found near the residence of Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani, the Mumbai Police has registered an FIR.

Meanwhile, a massive manhunt has been launched by the Mumbai Police to track down the two persons who had parked the Scorpio off Antilia, the ultra-luxury building at Carmichael Road.

The FIR was registered at the Gamdevi police station against unidentified persons.

The police have registered a case under IPC Sections 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 465 (punishment for forgery), 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal), 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy). Besides, Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, (punishment for attempt to cause explosion, or for making or keeping explosive with intent to endanger life or property) has also been included in the FIR.

The SUV bears a number similar to that of a vehicle that is part of the security detail of the Ambani family.

The incident has rattled the security establishment in India's financial capital as it comes just days ahead of the commencement of the Budget Session of the Maharashtra Legislature in Mumbai.

Security at important buildings and establishment has been beefed up.
