Former joint director of CBI joins Lok Satta

Former joint director of CBI V V Lakshminarayana joined the Lok Satta party in Hyderabad on Monday.

Lakshminarayana, who took voluntary retirement from service in March this year, had probed high profile cases regarding ill-gotten wealth of Satyam and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

The 53-year old Andhra IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre formally took membership of the Lok Satta party founded by retired IAS officer and former legislator Dr Jayaprakash Narayan.

He will be reviving the party which has gone defunct after Dr Jayaprakash Narayan wound it up and converted it into a social organisation.

The party will be contesting in next Assembly election in Andhra Pradesh.

Lakshminarayana has also investigated cases of Obulapuram iron ore mining scam involving former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and Emaar-MGF scam.

After his retirement, Lakkshminarayana has been travelling around the state and meeting different sections of people.

He has indicated that he would enter active politics to serve people.

He chose to join the Lok Satta party, even as the Aam Admi Party sent an invite asking him to join them.

At times he hinted that he might float a new political party, but finally, he chose to join the Lok Satta.
