Girl injured in grenade attack dies

The girl, identified as Urfa, had suffered splinter injuries on her abdomen and died during a surgery.

Urfa, a class II student, had gone to Bijbehara market along with her mother to buy new clothes for her uncle’s marriage.

Police said the grenade was hurled by militants towards a car, in which civilians were travelling. However, reports from Bijbehara said some unidentified gunmen hurled the grenade towards security forces. But it missed the intended target and exploded among the civilians.
