2 RTPS units shut down

Power generation has been stalled in two units of the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) here on Friday. Power production in the third unit has been halted owing to lack of demand while the 210 MW unit-7 has been shut for annual maintenance.

The total installed capacity of the eight-unit RTPS is 1,720 MW. Of which, about 1,000 MW is being generated from five units. The RTPS has a storage of 15,000 tonnes of coal, said C B Yellatti, in-charge executive director of RTPS.
