2 schoolchildren drown in Puttur

Two schoolchildren drowned after they accidentally fell into a sump at Kempugudde in Puttur taluk on Saturday.

The deceased are identified as Prajnasri (11), daughter of Guddappa Gowda and Sanjana (10), daughter of Damodar Gowda.

Both hail from Kempugudde near Perlampady in Kolthige and were the students of Kolthige Government Higher Primary School.

The duo went missing in the evening. After searching, bodies were found floating in the sump.
