<p>Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police, on Monday, arrested three suspects involved in the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/kotekar-cooperative-society-robbery-armed-gang-loots-valuables-worth-rs-4-crore-3360355">daylight robbery at the KC Road branc</a>h of the Kotekar Vyavasaya Seva Sahakari Sangha Niyamitha, near Padmaneri village in Tirunelveli of Tamil Nadu. </p><p>Mangaluru commissioner of police Anupam Agrawal said the arrested are Murugandi Thevar (36) from Tirunelveli, Yosuva Rajendran (35) from Dombivili west, Mumbai, and Kannan Mani (36) from Chembur, Mumbai.</p><p>During the operation, police seized the get-away car used in the crime, two pistols with three live rounds, machetes and a part of the stolen cash and gold ornaments. </p><p>According to the complaint filed with the police, valuables worth Rs 4 crore (cash and gold ornaments) were stolen by four armed men wearing masks, between 1 pm and 1.20 pm on January 17. The exact value of the recovered items will be confirmed after the mahazar, the commissioner said.</p><p>Agrawal said multiple teams had been formed to investigate the case. Efforts are on to trace other suspects involved in the case, he said.</p><p>“When the incident occurred, it was a blind case as there was no CCTV footage or clear evidence, which posed a significant challenge. However, our teams worked tirelessly and travelled to Mumbai and Tamil Nadu, gathering information,” Agarwal said. </p><p>A Maharashtra-registered car was used in the crime. Murugandi drove the car from Mumbai to Mangaluru and then travelled to Tamil Nadu via Kerala.</p><p>Valuables were seized from two gunny bags during the operation. He said the suspects would be interrogated on whether local people were also involved in the robbery. </p>
