<p>As the inflow into the Almatti reservoir has increased, the outflow has been risen to 1,00,000 cusecs. The Krishna valley region is receiving heavy rains in both Maharashtra and Karnataka.</p><p>Since the inflow is expected to rise further over the next three to four days, water is being released from the reservoir at a rate higher than the inflow as a precautionary measure.</p><p>The outflow which was 70,000 cusecs was increased to 1,00,000 cusecs at 9:30 am.</p><p>Rainfall intensity has gone up in Maharashtra’s Krishna valley. Rainfall recorded: Mahabaleshwar (12.8 cm), Navaja (17.4 cm), Koyna (9.3 cm), Radhanagari (11 cm) and Tarali (6 cm).</p><p><strong>Rajapura barrage</strong></p><p>At Rajapur barrage, before entering Karnataka, the Krishna river has an inflow of 42,625 cusecs, while from the Doodhganga river at Karnataka’s Kallol barrage, 11,968 cusecs is joining, making a total of 60,968 cusecs water entering the Krishna river from Maharashtra.</p><p>At Almatti reservoir, the inflow stands at 47,055 cusecs. The water level in the reservoir is 519.35 meters. Against the maximum storage capacity of 123.081 tmc ft, the reservoir currently holds 118.72 tmc ft of water.</p>
