<p>Hubballi: The visit of Fly91 officials to Hubballi Airport has given new wings to the hope of securing air connectivity to new destinations. If everything goes as planned the Hubballi Airport will expand its operation to facilitate the passengers flying to new destinations.</p><p>In October 2024, Just Udo Aviation Private Limited (Fly91), a low-cost regional airline headquartered in Goa, showed interest to operate flights from Hubballi to Agatti (Lakshadweep), Goa, Belagavi and Hyderabad. A couple of days ago, the safety team of Fly91 visited Hubballi Airport and held talks with the airport director regarding their plans.</p><p>Hubballi Airport Director Rupesh Kumar S said the team of Fly91 officials visited Hubballi Airport to assess operations and get other information. They also gathered key data, evaluated airspace conditions and more. They have shown interest in operating flights from the City. </p><p><strong>Office in Hubballi</strong></p><p>According to sources, the airline has shown interest in the Goa, Hyderabad and Bengaluru sectors. Operations and the office team of the Fly91 are expected to visit Hubballi Airport in a week or two, and they will open their office here. If everything goes as planned, they may start flight service from May first week.</p><p>Founded in 2023, the Fly91 operates ATR-72 craft to tier-2 and tier-3 cities in Goa, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep and Telangana. It has been showing interest in expanding its operations to Karnataka by operating from Hubballi and Bengaluru.</p><p>Sources said, in its summer schedule, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved Bengaluru, Hubballi and Hyderabad routes for the airline. The airline may operate morning and evening flights from Bengaluru, Hubballi and Hyderabad in both directions.</p><p>As of now only Indigo has been operating daily fleets to Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and it operates four days in a week to Pune. Earlier, Star Air, Air India and others were operating flights, post Covid-19 pandemic, both airlines suspended their operations from Hubballi Airport. Now, only Indigo has been operating from here.</p><p><strong>Third flight to B’luru</strong></p><p>Indigo commenced its third flight to Bengaluru from March 30. The new flight departs Bengaluru at 9:55 am and reaches Hubballi at 11:20 am. The flight departs Hubballi at 11:55 am and reaches Bengaluru at 1:20 pm. In its two day operation, the third flight recorded around 70% occupancy.</p><p>According to sources in the airport, every year in March there will be less occupancy in most of the flights due to examinations. From the middle of April the number of air passengers will shoot up as the tourists will start travelling to various destinations.</p>
