<p>Yellapur: The death toll of the accident of a vegetable-laden lorry near Arabail Ghat in Yellapur taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the early hours of Wednesday reached 10 when the lorry turned turtle in the ghat section. Nine people died on the spot and one person was declared brought dead at Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute (KMC-RI) in Hubballi.</p><p>Among the 11 injured persons shifted to KMC-RI, Jalal Basha (22) was declared brought dead.</p><p>At the emergency ward of the KMC-RI, Mallikrihan Akki (22), Afsarkhan Khanjera (20) Asraf Laate (20), Nizamuddin Soudagar (28), Khajahussain Kismatgar (30), Kajamainu Kallinur (21), Mohammed Sadiq Bhateri (21), Mardansab Karadagi (21), Irfan Gudageri (18), and Jafar Savanur (28) are being treated.</p><p>All traveling in the lorry are vegetable vendors or Hamali workers. They were traveling in the lorry with vegetables and fruits, from Savanur in Haveri district to Kumta in Uttara Kannada district for the weekly vegetable market there.</p><p> 'A special team of doctors is formed to treat the injured, and their health condition is stable," said KMC-RI director S F Kammar</p><p>One Jubair from Savanur lamented that doctors were not available immediately when the injured were brought to the hospital, but it was asked to register and give Aadhaar number.</p>
