The Song and Drama Division, under the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting, organised a workshop for the cultural troupes here on Friday.
Regional Director of the Song and Drama Division H V Krishnamurthy said that these folk cultural tools will help create awareness about H1N1 influenza at the taluk and village
levels. “We will choose the popular form of dance and drama from a particular region and enact performances in the process of creating understanding about the H1N1 influenza,” he said.
Nearly 45 cultural troupes will be staging more than 1,000 programmes which will include street plays, yakshagana, kamsale, krishna-parijatha, gigi pada, leather puppets, veeragase, dholu kunitha, etc across the State.
