<p>Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has issued a notification banning heavy vehicles from plying on the Shiradi Ghat stretch of Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75 from July 18, 6 am until further orders.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Accordingly, the movement of all heavy commercial vehicles, two-axle trucks, multi-axle trucks, truck trailers, bullet tankers, ship cargo containers, government and private buses are banned on the stretch.</p>.<p class="bodytext">However, light motor vehicles such as cars and vans and two-wheelers can travel on the stretch. The ban is imposed to complete the pending works of the shoulder and guard wall on the stretch, according to the notification.</p>
