A 16-year-old girl went missing from her paying guest (PG) accommodation in Ejipura on Friday. The Koramangala police said Shaikh Jabeena, a student of Jyoti Nivas College, attended classes and went back to her PG in the evening.

At around 6 pm, she went out alone and did not return to her PG. She also did not attend college on Saturday, police added. Every night, Jabeena would call her parents and on Friday night she called her father and told him that she was in Mumbai and would return at the earliest. However, since then her phone has been switched off, said the police. Jabeena did not tell her parents why she was going to Mumbai nor did her parents know who accompanied her.

Police said Jabeena’s parents contacted all her friends and after they found that she had not called any of them, they lodged a missing complaint at Koramangala police station. “Jawaharlal T, a native of Anantpur and a timber merchant, has lodged a missing complaint of his daughter. We have contacted all her friends and are trying to trace her call details,” said a police official.
