The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police claim to have solved a six-year-old murder case, and several cases of robberies reported in Kerala with the arrest of Mohammed Saleem, an accused in 2008 serial bomb blast in the city.

The CCB police had picked up Saleem on October 10 from his native Kannur in Kerala. He was remanded in police custody for 14 days in the serial bomb blast case.

During the interrogation, the police found that Saleem along with Parambai Majeed and other associates had killed Nishad by taking a contract of Rs 25 lakh in 2012. An issue involving a woman had led to the incident. The police also found that Saleem and his associates were involved in robbery cases in 2016.

According to the police, they had passed the interrogation outcome to the Kerala police for further investigation.

“Saleem had confessed to his crimes, and the Kerala police came to know after we informed about his involvement in the murder. Saleem was indulging in such activities, and after taking contract killings he would spend that money for terror activities,” the officer said.

The CCB police will submit additional charge sheet of Saleem’s involvement, statements and his confessions.
