<p>Over 50,000 fake voter identity cards were found at a private apartment in Jalahalli ward of Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency on Tuesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The BJP workers found this when they searched a flat that they claim to belong to Congress candidate Munirathna.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We were campaigning for our candidate P M Muniraju Gowda in the constituency about three to four days ago. During this time, our candidate Gowda found a few guys with suspicious behaviour.<br />This triggered us to check them,” said Santhosh, a party worker.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We went to the flat claiming to deliver a courier and found at least 50,000 fake voter ID cards there,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“There were seven laptops and many ID cards were packed in envelopes along with a pamphlet of Munirathna,” he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The party workers later informed the Election Commission officials.<br />Shylaja, returning officer, Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency, said to have deployed three flying squads to verify the information.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Meanwhile, Sanjiv Kumar, chief electoral officer, said earlier, they had seized over 7,500 fake voter ID cards and had cancelled them immediately.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We do not have any details about the new seizure. We will investigate the matter soon,” he said.</p>
