A women’s rights activist who posted objectionable comments and a morphed picture of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has faced public wrath. Members of the BJP Yuva Morcha filed a complaint against her with the cyber crime police station on Tuesday.

The police said that Prabha Belavangala, on her Facebook account, had posted a morphed and obscene picture claiming it was that of UP chief minister with a woman. BJP Yuva Morcha members approached the cyber crime police and registered a complaint stating that Prabha tried to inflame communal passions and defame the UP chief minister. After public outcry on social media, she removed her post, which could cause breach of peace among communities, the complainants said.

They have requested the police to take strict action against the activist, as she has repeatedly indulged in posting objectionable content on social media. The complaint has been received and investigation is being carried out, said a senior police officer.
