Ahmedabad's infra 10 years ahead of Bengaluru, says agritech CEO; social media post goes viral

Bengaluru: Siddharth Dialani, the co-founder, and CEO of Bengaluru-based agritech company BharatAgri, recently lauded Ahmedabad's infrastructure, claiming the city is at least a decade ahead of Bengaluru in terms of roads, footpaths, traffic signals, and traffic management.

On January 25, Dialani took to social media platform X to share his observations, comparing the two cities' road quality and traffic systems. "Bengaluru is in shambles. :(,” he wrote.

In his posts, Dialani highlighted Ahmedabad's functional traffic signal timers with bright lights, noting that this simple addition reduces driver anxiety and encourages patience.

He added, "I can't believe such a basic feature is missing in almost all signals in Bengaluru. Bangalore is so dusty that the signal lights are barely visible."

Following his visit, Dialani also praised Ahmedabad’s wide roads, clear lane markings, and pothole-free streets, as well as the city's street lighting.

“Bengaluru is dark! Forget vibrant lights, even basic street lights are often out of order. Is that why people are generally sad and angry in Bengaluru?” he remarked.

Dialani's posts quickly gained traction, with his thread garnering over 2.1 million views within three days. Many users echoed his concerns, pointing to the governance issues in Bengaluru.

In response, Dialani suggested that the city's political leadership had "given up" on addressing these infrastructural challenges.

In reaction to Dialani’s comments, Mohandas Pai, a prominent Bengaluru-based entrepreneur, criticised the city's administration.

On X, he wrote: “A big big shame on @BBMPofficial. Our DCM @DKShivakumar should travel through the roads and address this issue seriously. Issuing orders that aren’t carried out shows a lack of focus. Has anyone been punished for failure? Has our lives improved? NO. (sic)”
