Ban on telecast of astrology shows likely

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday indicated that his government might ban the telecast of programmes on astrology.

Addressing the gathering after releasing a book ‘Dalita Lokada Dhruvataare’, organised by Karnataka Dalit Sangharsh Samiti in Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah said such programmes bred superstitious beliefs. When somebody from the audience asked him if telecasting of such shows would be banned, he said his government had been looking into it.
