Bengaluru: Assistant commissioner files case against man for harassing staff, obstructing work

Bengaluru: An assistant commissioner of Bengaluru North filed a police complaint with the Halasuru Gate police, alleging harassment, intimidation, and obstruction of official work by a man who repeatedly entered the government office and created a hostile environment for the employees.

A senior police officer said the complainant, Kiran S, alleged that the accused, Mahesh Kumar alias Harish of Mattiganhalli village, Budihalli hobli, frequently visited Kandhaya Bhavana on KG Road without authorisation, used abusive language, and humiliated women staff by body shaming.

Harish allegedly disrupted lunch hours, forced staff to vacate their seats and prevented them from having their meal peacefully.

Kiran further alleged that the accused interfered in the office functioning by pressuring staff to take up unrelated work, bringing irrelevant documents, and insisting his personal matters be prioritised. He is also accused of barging into rooms, shutting doors to instil fear, pulling chairs, and obstructing staff from discharging their duties.

Harish made baseless allegations against senior officers, creating nuisance in the office.

The Halasuru Gate police have registered a case and are trying to trace the accused based on details shared by the complainant and other staff.
