<p>Bengaluru: A private school in eastern <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bengaluru">Bengaluru </a>received a <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bomb-threat">bomb threat </a>on Tuesday, prompting the management to send the students home. After a thorough search, police declared it a hoax. </p><p>The threat was sent via email to Chrysalis High, Varthur. </p><p>"As per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), a manual check was done, followed by a dog squad and bomb squad. Nothing was found on the school premises. On July 18, over 40 schools in different parts of the city received bomb threats that were declared a hoax after thorough searches. </p><p>Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh urged the public not to panic and said efforts were underway to nab the culprits. </p><p>"Immediately when such threats are received, police take action and check the premises. Cybercrime police have been roped in and discussions will be held with the chief of the Internal Security Division (ISD) to decide on the appropriate steps,” Singh said. </p><p><strong>Adequate security in place: School</strong></p><p>In an internal message to parents, the school principal said adequate security measures were in place. </p><p>"The school received a bomb threat (bomb being placed in the school) today. As per the protocol, the school informed the local police station. Local police instructed us to disperse all the students (bus children in the bus & self children from Chrysalis High, Gunjur). The same was done with utmost care. There was a teacher or co-ordinator with all the children & in each bus too, along with the regular maid (sic)," the principal said in a statement. </p><p>"Chrysalis High Schools maintain an extremely high standard of safety and security. No person is allowed inside the campus without verification. The school also has 24X7 security. The entire campus is also secured by hundreds of CCTV cameras. Though we strongly believe that the contents of the mail received are fake, we do not believe in taking any chances when it comes to the safety of children," the statement added. </p>
