Bengaluru to witness total lunar eclipse on September 7 and 8

Bengaluru: Astronomy enthusiasts in Bengaluru can view the total lunar eclipse on September 7 and 8.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium stated that the eclipse is visible throughout the country.

“Please note that no special equipment is needed to view the Lunar eclipse. It is safe to view through an unaided eye. The public can view this eclipse from their respective places, provided the sky is clear. This eclipse is visible all over India,” the planetarium said in a statement.

According to information received from Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium on September 7 (Penumbral eclipse begins at 8.58 pm; partial eclipse begins at 9.57 pm; total eclipse begins at 11 pm and maximum eclipse at 11.41 pm) and on September 8 (Total eclipse ends at 12.22 am; partial eclipse ends at 1.26 am; and penumbral eclipse ends at 2.25 am).
