Rohit Roy has become a household name through his roles in Hindi television serials, such as Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and currently in Virasaat, where he is playing the lead.

Besides working in television series, Rohit has also acted in some of the Bollywood movies such as Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, Plan and Mittal vs Mittal.

This actor-turned-director has also starred in the Vivek Oberoi-Sanjay Dutt starrer Shootout at Lokhandwala in which he played Fattu, one of the gang members, and rather convincingly too.

His stint as the brash scion in the political drama called Sarrkkar on Zee Tv written by Shobha Dé won him several accolades

Metrolife caught up with the actor on the sidelines of a fashion show in the city, where he walked the ramp with the underprivileged children to raise funds for a cause.
“One likes to be associated with charity for children. I believe that children are the foundation of a society. I am happy to contribute to the children’s cause and it’s an interesting thing, ‘fashion for a cause,” says Rohit.

Rohit is one actor who has managed to straddle both TV and films with equal aplomb. After a highly successful stint on television, Rohit has moved on to the big screen with the highly acclaimed Shootout at Lokhanwala where in spite of the presence of heavyweights like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, Rohit got huge appreciation from all quarters.

While speaking about his career, Rohit says that he will continue to do television and films simultaneously to entertain the audience. “I would like to continue doing good work in TV and films as and when it comes my way.”

About his recent ventures, “I am doing a new television show. I have just finished a film and am also directing my own film,” he explains.

Rohit is one of the few in tellydom who have had a larger-than-life persona, the party loving lover boy image that clashes uncomfortably with the dedicated husband and doting father picture that he paints for himself. Rohit is more flamboyant, even as he restricts his screen appearances to avoid over exposure.

He believes that whether its TV or films, he loves to do good work to entertain people, “I love doing good work irrespective of the medium. It’s all good as long as people appreciate it.”

He is concentrating more on his acting than production. “I am not looking at production seriously.”

Originally from Ahmedabad , Rohit loves Delhi and has many fond memories of the city. “I love Delhi and have only fond memories of the city,” he signs off.
