Complete Yelahanka flyover work by year-end, contractors told

Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao inspected the construction of flyover between Yelahanka New Town and Doddaballapur Main Road on Thursday and directed the contractors to complete the work by year-end. 

Since taking charge, Rao has been inspecting all incomplete flyover projects such as Ejipura, Hosakerehalli and RR Nagar to assess the reasons for the sluggish pace of works. 

During the inspection on Thursday, he found that only 60% of the 2-km-long flyover coming up near Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Main Road has been completed. He also found that the pedestrian pathway along the road had collapsed at certain points, causing inconvenience to the public. He asked engineers to repair it.
