<p>Bengaluru: All <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bbmp">BBMP</a> zone and ward offices are likely to remain shut on Tuesday as Palike employees plan to go on a day-long strike with a list of demands.</p>.<p>Prominent among them are withdrawal of the Logsafe attendance system, filling up of 6,000 vacant posts, an end to the ‘suspension of employees for silly reasons’, reducing the number of marshals on duty, and granting promotions to engineers based on seniority, among others.</p>.<p>The protest — to be held at the BBMP head office — has been called by A Amruth Raj, who heads the BBMP Employees and Engineers Welfare Association.</p>.BBMP to launch rabies awareness campaign .<p>The association has also demanded that the BBMP release engineers deputed from other departments back to their parent organisations.</p>.<p>BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao has urged employees not to go ahead with the protest, assuring them he would consider their demands. He has also directed senior officers and engineers to remain present at the ward, zonal, and head offices to ensure service to the public is not disrupted.</p>
