DJ Tej performs at International School Bangalore, donates proceedings to cancer care

Bengaluru: Well-known DJ and music producer Tej has donated Rs 2.5 lakh to the Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, supporting treatment for underprivileged cancer patients.

Tej, who performed at the International School Bangalore’s 23rd edition of its annual student-led cultural and academic festival Vivum 25 in Bengaluru on Wednesday, waived his entire fee and chose instead to contribute the amount directly to Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to providing affordable and quality cancer care.

Tej is a renowned DJ who has performed worldwide and is known for his hip hop flavours.

A cheque handover ceremony followed the performance.

Vivum, one of India’s largest and longest-running school festivals, brings together hundreds of students across the country in a three-day celebration of culture, athletics, and academia.

The festival is organised by the students of The International School Bangalore (TISB). Vivium 25 was a two day event starting Wednesday with over 3,000 students participating on the inaugural day. The event also included many cultural activities including music and dance performances.

This year’s theme for the festival was ‘Carve Your Legacy’ and was chosen to encourage youth to lead with purpose and leave behind a meaningful impact, a vision embodied by Tej’s act of generosity.

Tej’s decision to donate his earnings to a cause has inspired many students. "This wasn’t just a show– it was a statement. Tej’s performance gave us more than music; it gave us a chance to contribute to something far greater than ourselves,” said one of the student organisers.
