<p>Bengaluru: The <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/enforcement-directorate">Enforcement Directorate (ED)</a> on Wednesday arrested three people, including two Sri Lankan nationals, for attempting to smuggle foreign currency worth Rs 2.12 crore.</p><p>The arrested people have been identified as Vimalraj Thuraisingam, a Sri Lankan national attempting to smuggle the currency from Bengaluru to Colombo; Thileepan Jayanthikumar, also a Sri Lankan national; and Veera Kumar, an Indian national, the ED said in a statement.</p><p>"All three passengers were set to board a SriLankan Airlines flight to Colombo when they were intercepted," the agency added.</p>.NIA arrests 3 men for leaking sensitive defence information to Pakistani intelligence operatives.<p>Acting on a tip-off from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Kempegowda International Airport, the ED searched Thuraisingam and examined his two co-passengers. They were found in possession of foreign currency, which was subsequently seized.</p><p>The agency noted that the person from whose bag the currency was recovered failed to provide a valid explanation for its source, claiming instead that he had purchased it in Chennai using cash. The seized currency included Euros, US Dollars, and Rials.</p><p>Further investigation is underway.</p>
