The candidates who appear for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam will get free coaching from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

Confirming the development on Twitter, Chief Minister, HD Kumaraswamy said: “Higher Education dept of Karnataka govt is providing ICT based free coaching to eligible candidates who apply for JE posts being called for by Indian Railways.”

The last date to apply for the positions is January 31. According to the University notification, the passed out students of BE, BTech, 3 years diploma in Engineering, BCA, BSc (CS, physics and chemistry) are eligible to appear for the examination.

“The people from Karnataka are very less in number in the railway department when compared to other states. So our government has taken this step. The coaching will be free for the position of Junior Engineer (JE). We are intended to train people without restricting the number,” GT Devegowda told DH.
