Golden Star Ganesh and his producer wife, Shilpa, are all excited over the launch of their second home production Cool-Sakkath Hot Maga. May sound like the tagline of a FM radio station, but the couple say the film has nothing to do with the radio station. The duo have always roped in the best from the industry for the their home productions. If it was Anjana Sukhani and Yuvika Chaudhary for Maleyalli Jotheyalli, it’s now the turn of popular TV actress Aamna Sharief to play Ganesh's love interest in Cool... “It’s another love story but not the usual run-of-the-mill one; but it’s surely going to be packaged differently.
A large part of the film will be shot on campus so Ganesh, who plays a college-going guy, will have to lose weight. He’s working out and has to shed another five kilos before he looks fit and trim,” says Shilpa. The movie will be shot at a popular college in the City.
Asked why she was importing the female lead from Bollywood, Shilpa says, “We are planning to release our film in Mumbai and Hyderabad as well. And I would like to woo the non-Kannadigas to come and watch the film. We must have a whole new audience," she reasons.

Ganesh is thrilled about his character and says it’s unlike the characters he has essayed
before.

He has been working hard to lose weight, all in an effort to look trim and fit.

“There’s no rain, no love at first sight and no broken hearts. The role demands that I look and behave in a very different way. I have incorporated a lot of my college days in the film,” says Ganesh. The film portrays youngsters in a different light. Not all college-going girls and boys bunk classes and waste their time, “there are among them the more intelligent ones. Those who have a purpose and direction,” he adds.

Different shades of love

The marketing mantra for Krishnan Love Story is that it is inspired from a true story. Director Shashank says he has replicated a true incident – that happened to one of his close friends – in the movie. “The movie is  based on a real incident. I have only tweaked the climax to make it more convincing. It portrays the intense love between a middle class boy and a girl. There are very sensitive moments in the film. I am sure it will click with the people,” Shashank told Metrolife.

The director says after the movie release, the real life characters whose story has been portrayed will come before the audience and narrate their story. Shashank has been approached by a few directors from the Tamil and Telugu industry to remake Krishnan... in other languages as well. Radhika Pandit says this is perhaps the first time she has appeared in a non glamourous role, “I wear simple clothes sans make up. This movie is special because it’s based on a true incident. While I am playing my role, the real characters are leading their lives somewhere out there. There are different shades of love and it never gets monotonous to play out all those shades,” says Radhika.

The split is official

It’s now official that Nenapirali Prem is not the hero of Prema Chandrama. The bitter row between the actor and director Shahuraj Sindhe ended on Thursday with the actor returning a sum of Rs 10 lakh, that was paid as advance to him by the director. The director wasted no time in finding a replacement. He has zeroed in on Raghu Mukherjee and Kiran to play the lead opposite Rekha. The shooting will begin soon after the muhurtha on June 18.

Prem had pinned a lot of hope on Prema Chandrama. “I really liked the storyline and was excited about my role but my fallout with the director has been rather unpleasant. We had some misunderstanding on issues relating to design. He and I didn’t agree on a lot of other issues as well. I decided to pull out of the film before the issue deepens,” Prem told Metrolife.

However, the actor hasn’t ruled out working with Sindhe, “If there’s a good project then I wouldn’t mind working with him again,” he says.

Director Sindhe cited too much interference from Prem as the reason for the split. “It’s nice when actors give their inputs but when they start dictating, it becomes difficult. I have invested more than two crore in the project and don’t want to lose money because of one person. All is for good. I hope Prem would mend his ways,” says Sindhe.

The film will be shot in Bangalore, Mysore and Sakleshpur. It is slated for an October release.
