<p>Bengaluru: The<a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/lokayukta"> Lokayukta</a> police have booked a government engineer and two private individuals for illegally selling a Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) site in northern Bengaluru, causing a loss of Rs 10 crore to the government.</p>.<p>The suspects are Syed Asghar, Assistant Executive Engineer with KHB (Yelahanka New Town), and Govindaiah and Harini Satish from T Dasarahalli.</p>.<p>According to the Lokayukta police, Asghar sold KHB Site 271 ‘A’ Sector, measuring 50.5x80 ft, to Govindaiah and Harini, causing wrongful loss to the government.</p>.Excise inspector, who claimed to be fortune teller, jailed for amassing illegal wealth.<p>A senior officer said that notices had been issued to the suspects to appear for inquiry, while the role of a third person was yet to be confirmed.</p>.<p>On Wednesday, the Lokayukta police raided the KHB’s Yelahanka New Town office and the residences of Asghar and Govindaiah. Officials said that the searches yielded documents and photocopies related to the site.</p>.<p>The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.</p>
