The high court on Friday adjourned the hearing of the public interest litigation seeking directions to remove the illegal flexes and hoardings in the city.

A division bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice L Narayana Swamy and Justice S Sujatha, adjourned the hearing after the government sought clarifications on the BBMP Outdoor Signage and Public Messaging 2018 Bylaws.

The court asked the government to get the clarifications from the civic body and implement the bylaws in the next two weeks.

In the last hearing, the court had asked the government to expedite the process of approving the bylaws.

The government counsel had earlier submitted that it would need four weeks to approve the bylaws, following which the court had asked to expedite the process. The court adjourned the hearing of the case to February 7.
