IAS officer's son among city JEE Mains toppers

A student from Bengaluru has secured an all-India rank (AIR) of 55 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2018, the result of which was announced on Monday evening.

Adway Girish, a student from FIITJEE, is among the toppers from the state who has secured the 55th rank. He scored 325 out of 360 marks. He has also scored 95% in the II PU exams.

Thuhin Girinath, son of senior IAS officer Tushar Girinath, has also made it to the top list of students from Karnataka.

Speaking to DH, Tushar Girinath said his son is a CBSE student and hopes to study in IIT.

"He has cleared exams for IISc as well. However, he is keen on studying in one of the IITs," he added.

Thuhin has written his class 12 exams.

The JEE Advanced exams are scheduled on May 20.

"The school and the teachers were very supportive and the student-to-teacher ratio was low. This made it possible for the teachers to give personal attention to students,” Thuhin said.

He is hopeful of performing well in the JEE Advanced as well.

Prabash Reddy, a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, has secured an AIR of 124. A student of Narayana PU College, Sahakar Nagar, he believes that tests helped him score high marks.

Reddy aspires to be an IAS officer.

Neel Balar, a student of Deeksha Centre For Learning, who secured 259th rank said: “I could have scored better. I am confident to crack the JEE Advanced.”

Yogesh Madhav Reddy, a student of Narayana Integrated PU College, has bagged a 1050 AIR.

“I made my own notes for Physics and Chemistry. Math had a lot of conceptual problems. I would study for nine hours at school and two hours at home every day."

Watching movies was his way to relax. He has a CGPA of 10.0 in class 10 board exams.

Bhargav, another student of Narayana PU Integrated College, and a resident of Sahakar Nagar has secured 509th rank.

“I didn't have to study for many hours as the college is an integrated college," he said.

He followed the schedules and timetables of the college and he studied close 10 hours every day.
