Instagram reel stunt on road gets man arrested in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 25-year-old social media creator has been arrested for filming a video in the middle of the busy Silver Jubilee Park Road, causing a public nuisance.

Prashanth alias Simbu, a resident of Ramanna Garden off SJP Road, was arrested and later released on bail.

According to police, Prashanth placed a swivel chair in the middle of SJP Road, sat on it, and sipped a cuppa. Another person filmed him even as commuters struggled to navigate the road.

Prashanth later uploaded the video to Instagram as a reel in mid-April. The Bengaluru police’s social media team came across the video and directed the SJ Park police to register a case against him.

Investigators booked him for public nuisance and identified him as the suspect. He was arrested on April 12, police said.
