The director of Love Guru and Gaana Bajaana – Prashanth Raj – is at it again, only this time he is all set to make an action movie which, according to him, will appeal to the masses. Titled Pataki the film is going to be made in Telugu and Kannada and will go on floors in the coming year.

“I am excited about this film because so far I have done love stories but this one will have a mass appeal as there will be a lot of action and drama,” he says.Having worked with the same team twice before, Prashanth says this time he will have a new team of actors.

“The cast is yet to be finalised. We are looking for faces that will cater to both Kannada and Telugu audiences,” he says and adds, “I have approached a lot of top actors but they are all tied up with other projects. I am still working out the dates with a few of them.”

Prashanth is unhappy with the poor response he got for Gaana Bajaana in independent theatres. However, that was compensated in the multiplexes. “It was kind of disheartening to see the film fail in independent theatres but I am happy that the multiplex audience really liked the film and it has even managed to run for 50 days there,” he says.   “That’s why this time I want to venture into something new and make an out-an-out mass entertainer with a touch of class.” Interestingly, ‘Pataki’ will be shot on an island located near Sri Lanka.

“This will be the first time a Kannada film will be shot there. We have got permission for just 10 to 15 days and I am sure we will make the best of the opportunity,” he informs.
