<p>Thieves drilled a hole in the floor of a jewellery shop and decamped with more than 35 kg of silver articles and about 600 grams of gold jewels on Wednesday night.<br /><br />The theft took place at Balaji Jewellers on Devasandra Main Road. Mohan Lal, a native of Rajasthan, owns the showroom. The theft came to light on Thursday morning. CCTV cameras had been damaged.<br /><br />The thieves had drilled their way into the jewellery store through a nearby drainage. Police recovered about five kg silver articles which had fallen while the thieves escaped. <br /><br />“Police suspect the involvement of persons known to Lal. Police have collected CCTV footage from nearby areas to establish the identity of the thieves,” a senior police officer said.</p>
