As part of the Logi Connect project, exporters from Coimbatore could now get their consignments transported via road to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here through a dedicated bonded trucking service.

Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) has announced the expansion of this service in collaboration with its cargo partners, Menzies Aviation Bobba Bangalore Pvt Ltd (MABB) and Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt Ltd (AISATS).

The first shipment from the city through KIA was to Quebec, Canada on October 5. “Exporters can be assured that their air freight will reach its ultimate destination quickly, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner. All cargo will move via MABB and AISATS in Bengaluru, while Container Corporation of India will be the terminal operator in Coimbatore,” a BIAL release said.

The service is part of the Logi Connect project. BIAL has proposed to initiate more routes to neighbouring cities in the near future.
