<p>The Vidyaranyapura police arrested a man for murdering his live-in partner on Thursday night.<br /><br /> The suspect is Nagaraj, a resident of Ashraya Colony. He is accused of strangulating Manjula, 21.<br /><br />Manjula, a widow with a daughter, had lost her husband four years ago. Nagaraj was married, but had parted ways with his wife. The two of them were living together in Ashraya Colony, said the police.</p>.<p><br />The relationship between the two had strained and they used to fight frequently. They fought over a petty issue on Thursday night too and Nagaraj strangled her with her duppatta, said the police.<br /><br />He then called up victim’s mother Gouramma, a resident of Kodigehalli, and told her that Manjula’s had hanged herself. Gouramma was suspicious and lodged a complaint. The police took him into custody where he confessed to the crime.<br /></p>
