Miscreants impersonate Karnataka guv, create FB account

Bengaluru: Unidentified miscreants impersonated Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and created a Facebook account in his name, police said on Wednesday. 

The Central CEN police have registered an FIR following a complaint by R Prabhu Shankar, a staffer at Gehlot’s office. According to the FIR, on July 31, the Facebook account with the governor’s name was discovered.

"Unknown person(s) are sending messages to the public by using the same Facebook account in the name of the Governor. Therefore, appropriate legal action should be taken against the unknown individual who created a fake Facebook account in the name of the Honourable Governor of Karnataka," the FIR quoted the complainant as saying.

When DH cross-checked on Wednesday, the Facebook account remained active.
