<p>A 29-year-old woman died after coming under a moving train on the railway tracks between Jnanabharathi and Nayandahalli in West Bengaluru on Monday afternoon. Her husband suffered grievous head injuries, the railway police said. <br /><br />Shwetha M and her husband Manjunath, of Challaghatta, were crossing the railway tracks around 3.30 pm when the Mysuru-bound Tippu Express hurtled towards them. The train had departed from the KSR (Bengaluru City) railway station and was heading towards Kengeri.<br /><br />The train emerged from a blind curve. The couple failed to notice it and was run <br />over. Shwetha’s legs were cut off and lay on the tracks. Manjunath was found lying unconscious with head injuries and a chopped hand. <br /><br />Passersby and the railway police dashed to the spot and took the couple to the Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital.<br /><br />Shwetha was declared brought dead while Manjunath was later shifted to Nimhans. His head injuries are not critical, the railway police added. <br /><br />The police suspect it to be a suicide pact but have not yet drawn any conclusions. They said Manjunath was too shocked to give a statement. The couple didn’t have children, they added. Manjunath is a lawyer by profession. <br /><br />A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Bengaluru City railway police station.<br />DH News Service</p>
